The Friends meet every Wednesday in the Gardens. In the Winter months - November to February from 11.00 in the morning until about 3.00pm.
If you are interested in helping in the gardens and feel you could contribute your skills in gardening or even want to begin gardening please get in touch through the contact page.
You need not bring any tools but do wear heavy walking or gardening boots or shoes and bring your gardening gloves.
We all do what we can, every little bit helps, so don't worry if you feel that you can only give an hour or two, we always need someone to put the kettle on for that much needed brew!
We plan to make the Gardens a better place for pollinators by planting pollinator friendly flowers especially those which are more useful to bumblebees.
These include most culinary herbs, Rosemary, Lavender, Marjoram, Borage, lots of wild flowers, Teasel, Foxglove, Allium, Cornflower, Bluebell, Lungwort. Then there are shrubs like Hypericum, Pieris, Skimmia, in fact there are many flowers which provide our native bumblebees with good nectar and pollen, for even more info visit: http://bumblebeeconservation.org/get-involved/gardening-for-bees/
