The Friends Group was set up to:
· care for and tend the gardens and green;
· plant native and pollinator friendly plants and flowers, introducing biodiversity whilst helping the survival of bumblebees,
· provide a natural habitat for all pollinators and local wildlife conducive to the local environment,
· enhance and provide an outdoor amenity space for the community, through education, and wildlife activities,
· ensure that Cornwall Council grass cutting regime allows wild flowers, flower meadows and plants to flower and seed.
The Committee for Friends of Bolitho Gardens and Newlyn Green consists of the following members:
Melanie Anne Camp - Chair
Valerie Cocking - Vice Chair
Clive Glentworth - Secretary
Simon Moore - Treasurer and Education/Schools liason
The Constitution will be available on site shortly.
The membership stands at 18 members 7 of whom are active volunteers.
Volunteers meet every Wednesday afternoon at "The Hut" from 1.30 onwards.
All Health and Safety and Insurance is covered by Cormac.
